The ProTon Sonic Art Group was founded in Finland in 1987. The art historian Agnieszka Waligórska and her husband Pekka Sirén, lecturer in sound art, research and teach in the field of radio art. The sound engineer Mikko Laasko experiments with new sound effects. Ilkka Toiviainen has worked as a director throughout Europe since 1973. The group has received numerous awards.
