SARY, Lászlo Hungarian

Lászlo Sáry, born in 1940, is a Hungarian composer, pianist and music teacher. Her is a co-founder of the New Music Studio Budapest, and a representative of minimal music. Sáry developed the Sáry method in the mid-1970s, which he called "Creative Music Activities". The method is designed to sensitize students to their acoustic and musical environment and attempts to convey the concepts of New Music in an intuitively accessible way. Sáry has composed more than eighty works, including three chamber operas. He received the Kassák Prize in 1979, the Erkel Prize in 1986 and the Bartók Pásztory Prize in 1993 for his compositions.
