Robert Millis was born in New York in 1966. He lives and works as a musician, sound artist and filmmaker in Seattle. Millis is a founding member of the "Climax Golden Twins" experimental music duo. He devotes particular attention to collecting shellac records, which he uses in sound installations and compositions. In 2012 and 2013 he carried out research on Indian music and sound art in India as a Senior Fulbright Research Scholar.
