Kazuya Ishigami, born in Osaka in 1972, is a composer, sound artist and sound engineer, who lives and works in Europe and Japan. Since 1997 he has worked intensively with "Noise Music" and is a member of the worldwide "Noise" movement. He became known through his performances for "Acte Kobe" in Marseille in 1999 and in Berne in 2000, as well as through his work with Johannes Sistermanns. Ishigami's compositions alternate between contemplative spirituality, personal emotionality and political sarcasm. What these pieces have in common is his radical aesthetic of sound and his feeling for suggestive sound pictures which are beyond all categories. Kazuya Ishigami has his own label "NEUS-318", which represents various artists.
